In our guest's words
Organized an after-work retirement send-off for a longtime director with a flowing crowd arriving at various times. The venue setup accommodated our fluid numbers wonderfully.
The management team ensured our drink tickets and shared billing preferences were handled with absolute precision.
About this event
An after-work retirement send-off for a longtime director, with guests arriving and leaving throughout the evening. Numbers were deliberately fluid rather than fixed, so drink tickets and shared billing did the heavy lifting instead of a set seating plan.
Where to book an event like this today
This event was hosted at Firkin on Bay Street, which has since closed permanently after the building it occupied was redeveloped. The same team now runs three pubs across the Greater Toronto Area, and looking after a drop-in retirement send-off with drink tickets and split billing is very much still something we do.
Downtown, that send-off now belongs at The FlatIron and Firkin, 49 Wellington Street East, in the historic Gooderham Building. It takes up to 91 people and is easy for colleagues to reach straight from the office.
Should the guest list grow, The Goose and Firkin at 1875 Leslie Street, North York is the largest of the three at 273 full capacity, fitting 176 indoors for a standing reception. The Drake and Firkin at 6982 Financial Drive, Mississauga is next at 210, with free parking on site.
Sending someone off after a long career? Group bookings and private events at all three locations are arranged through OurPubEvents.com.
