Arranged a casual late January get-together for our corporate department. The staff laid out an excellent designated space for us to sit and chat without feeling separated from the pub's lively atmosphere.

The preordered appetizer platters were filling, fresh, and arrived right on schedule. Highly recommended for corporate group bookings.

Where to book an event like this today

This event was hosted at Firkin on Bay Street, which has since closed permanently after the building it occupied was redeveloped. The same team now runs three pubs across the Greater Toronto Area, and carving out a designated space for a relaxed departmental get-together is very much still something we do.

The Goose and Firkin at 1875 Leslie Street in North York suits this kind of low-key after-work gathering particularly well. The midtown room seats up to 130 for a meal, fits 176 indoors for a standing reception, reaches 273 at full capacity and adds 107 seats on the patio in warmer months.

Downtown departments are better served by The FlatIron and Firkin, 49 Wellington Street East in the historic Gooderham Building, which handles up to 91, and west-end teams by The Drake and Firkin, 6982 Financial Drive, Mississauga, with free parking on site.
